The way I understand extraterritoriality is that you have to be
established for a good long time. I can't declare my aprtment
extraterritorial property just because I run Frypp Security's (a
CalFree based organization) Seattle office out of it. Two big reasons
why:
1) Frypp Security is not multinational. It just has branch offices.
Check out the economics board three nodes down and one left to figure
out the difference.
2) Frypp Security is only about ten years old total, with the Seattle
office being here since the end of February. Neither the home office
nor the branch can say they've been around long enough to become a
government unto themselves. Plus, the big boys would beat the holy
bejeezus out of us if we tried. I have no fanatsies about how long
we'd hold out against any corp based security that wanted us
exterminated. Which, becomes more possible because we'd come under
the influence of the Corporate Court so much more, if we wanted to do
business with anyone.
Just my pointless ramblings. Maybe that's not why we aren't
extraterritorial, but they're damn good reasons.]<<<<<
