>>>>>[ I run a team of specialists. The individuals themselves often take
odd jobs on their own, but many of them are often on call by me. Those
actually ON the team are required to drop all but the most serious of runs
if I require their assistance. With this strict rule, many of my core
lieutenants only run with me. All members must be proficient with firearms,
and either unarmed or armed combat, if not both, despite their 'profession'.
All members must remain unattached to either family or relationships. All
members answer to me, and be willing to do as I tell them, regardless of
situation or any morals they may have had while on a run. Qualms are taken
with me afterward. When they run with me, they lose their individuality.
They are a unit. Obviously, many people can not conform to these strict
disciplines (and I haven't even discussed training....), and therefore my
group is relatively small, but we are very powerful and very effective.
Of my group, only Jazz and Tech, my mage and decker, are comfortable being
named openly. Others I can draw upon include two physical adepts, a
shaman, a pair of samurai, and a rigger. My rigger's main vehicle is
currently defunct, having opted to take a run with other 'individuals'
which resulted in the destruction of his vehicle by a dragon. He learned
the hard way that running with people he is not familiar with leaves him
open to greatly increased chance of risk. ]<<<<<

>>>>>[ If Maddoc sounds like a taskmaster, you're right. And you haven't
even scraped the surface. He doesn't take anyone who is remotely likely
to even flinch when told to shoot an unarmed man in the head or attack a
Western Dragon with a ball-point pen. He won't take anyone who may hold
himself back because of a wife and kids. He won't take anyone who will
question an order, and most of all, he won't take anyone who isn't the
best. One time out east, Maddoc considered using local talent as a rigger
for a run. After his intensive scrutiny, he decided that none of them
were capable enough and brought his own rigger. ]<<<<<
