If
the creature is just a "flesh form" spirit, then yes, the flesh form can be
destroyed. If it is a true form spirit...(this may go for flesh form as well)
it may manifest itself in a physical form. However, the physical form is just
a shell. It will take a banishing or some sort of "spirit capture" to truly
destroy the entity. These spirits are almost pure evil.
Have you ever read "Lord of the Rings" by J.R.R. Tolkien? He was a popular
writer in the mid-20th century. In his novel he presented the idea of a
Ringwraith which was a presumably undead creature that was given physical
form. Even though the physical form was destroyed, the Ringwraiths would
again take form. In fact, the only "death" of a Ringwraith in LotR was due to
an old prophecy which said "No man could destroy the king of the Nazgul"...he
was struck down by a halfling and a woman. (I always rather enjoyed that
part) I believe that the same may hold true for insect spirits.]<<<<<
