*****Visual: Patty DeVine, the KSAN Sprawl reporter, within SeaTac
*****Airport. The area in which she stands is familiar to anyone
*****who has ever been inside the place, as it is the main concourse
*****leading to the international flights section, as well as the
*****suborbital and ballistic flights. Three huge glass panes are
*****shattered, decorating the floor all the way across the concourse
*****with their shards. A number of innocents seem to have been
*****injured, and one killed where the support for the glass came
*****scything through the space where he was standing. There is much
*****screaming, still, and Knight-Errant, which holds Sea-Tac's
*****security contract, is breaking hard over the scene even as the
*****cameras are rolling.
"This is Patti DeVine, with a KSAN exclusive! Only moments ago, here
upon the International concourse of SeaTac airport, people started dying.
The three great windows behind me erupted onto the concourse, and there
are a number of people down, especially from flying glass. However,
we have noted that a number of people have been apparently shot --"
*****The camera pans across to zoom in upon one group of well-dressed
*****individuals, perhaps an even dozen in number, who are moving slowly
*****along the floor. Four are down, and as the camera records, another
*****three drop in quick succession, heads snapping back in the movement
*****characteristic of head-shots. Eeriely, the only sound, besides the
*****wet smack of death, is the screaming; no gunfire, nothing. KE is
*****moving to cover the suited group, but they seem to be moving way
*****too slow...
"I can't be positive --"
*****-- another individual falls, a look of astonishment on her face --
"-- but I think --"
*****-- this one is an obvious executive, all of his clothing is top-
*****-drawer, but still, the wet snap-thud of death brings an expression
*****of 'this isn't supposed to happen to me' upon his face --
"-- that those being targetted --"
*****-- another one, bulky, maybe a bodyguard and cybered --
"-- are members of the --"
*****-- one last, that the bodyguard was protecting --
"-- Universal Brotherhood!"
*****Knight Errant surrounds the last individual, a mousey-looking
*****secretarial type who seems completely terrified by the systematic
*****destruction of her compatriots. KE, protecting her with their
*****bodies, move her past the KSAN crew; the camera audio picks up
*****her babbling, '-- didn't protect them, the spells didn't protect --,'
*****and the lapel pin, clearly of the UB.
"It would seem that, at this time, there are approximately twelve members
of the Universal Brotherhood dead at SeaTac airport; Knight-Errant is on
the scene, and the shooting seems to have stopped. Dealing with poor
information, it would seem that more than one of the members had spells
upon them to assist in their defence but that those spells for some reason
failed under this assault. Until we can get more information....
