>>>>>[Scan this drek chummers. I've been waitin' for two days for
the media to get ahold of my latest exploit and finally it turns up
for the noon news. Blows my mind how much of this is totally wrong
stuff. And it's swiped from a pirate trid. Used to be my favorite
channel on top of that. They usually give me pretty good coverage.
Granted, they can never pin anything on me, but still it's nice to get
noticed.

Anyway, give this a gander. It wasn't one of my best performances,
but I still got a kick out of the symbolism.

+++++ BEGIN TRID:
"This is Charlie Waters 'I-on-the-Marines' news.

The day before yesterday, an explosion and fire rocked downtown San
Francisco near the Presidio. A San Francisco Police Department
spokesman originally announced that a fire had broken out in the
tavern known as 'the Officer's Club' at around nine o'clock, soon
after a group of Imperial Marines had entered. The alleged 'fire'
began in the front of the building, away from the kitchen area.
Police and Fire Department officials were not available for comment
regarding why the fire broke out in the fron of the building.

The fire damaged the facade of the building, as well as damaging the
front entrance. Inside, several patrons were severly burned. A
great deal of the souvenirs and memoriabilia of past wars were lost
to the fire. The fire was said to be very stubborn and difficult for
fire fighters to exstinguish. Sources inside the San Francisco Police
Department suggest that when the fire had spread to the paneling of
the interior, glues were ignited and fueled the fire.

However, a source inside the SFPD's Investigative Division, told 'I-
on-the-Marines' news that the fire was actually an
incendiary car bomb detonated by members of Oakland's notorious
Metahuman Action Committee. This footage, smuggled from the SFPD
clearly shows a van, bearing the distinctive 'Rising Sun on a
Bullseye' insignia of the Metahuman Action Committee's radical Family
Stone, driving into the front of the Officer's Club and exploding.

The body of one Walter "Big Wally" Garbonski, a known MAC
collaborator, was found in the wreckage of the vehicle. I-Marine
security assets believe that Garbonski was solely responsible for the
bombing.

Casualties, most of whom were I-Marines, were rushed to the Presidio
Infirmary for treatment. Their conditions are being withheld, as per
I-Marine Standard Procedure in terrorist incidents.

In possibly related news, sources inside the Presidio have told me
that only hours ago, a Great Sea Spirit manifest itself inside the
offices of the Imperial Governor. The spirit was quickly banished by
I-Marine mages. The Governor was unhurt in the incident.

In light of these two terrorist acts, Imperial Marine security has
raised its alert level.

This is Charlie Waters, 'I-on-the-Marines' trideo news.

+++++ END TRIDEO

What a fraggin' crock. Big Wally wasn't driving the van. Nobody
was. We set the autopilot and let it go. I know for a fact that Big
Wally lost a race to the county line to an AVM three weeks ago.

And another thing, the Metahuman Action Committee doesn't exist. The
I-Marines just blame every terrorist act that they can't solve in the
city on it. And the Family Stone, why that's just anybody who uses
the "Rising Sun on a Bullseye", as the media so colorfly calls it.

Really is too bad that Sea Spirit didn't drown the Governor. Not
that I have anything against him personally, he's really a great guy.
But the symbolism would be great. After all, half of a guerilla war
is just psychology. I'm gonna have to figure out who did that.]<<<<<

Ah, well, sure was pretty though wasn't it?]<<<<<
