The Mayor of Boston, speaking through a sat-link from a battery powered
communications link, asked the Governer of Massachussets to declare Boston a
disaster area earlier today. This is Charlie Finger, bringing you the news
from the world of Boston.

That was the news earlier today, and the Governer responded by calling out the
National Guard to help restore order in the besieged Boston Metroplex. The
already active UCAS Army, quaranteening Chicago, has responded to the call to
arms by Boston's mayor and is setting up massive desalinization stations in
the Boston Harbor. However, the still burning oil, now estimated at closer to
35 million liters rather than the original 20 million liters, may cause
problems with the machinery. And various environmental groups wonder at the
plant's ability to remove the other toxins from the seawater along with the
salt. As of yet, the Army has not responded to thier charges.

Riots are now commonplace and over 2/3rds of the city is totally lawless.
Police and private security orginizations have taken to defending thier own
facilities and are no longer even attempting to stop crimes that take place,
sometimes even directly across from a precinct house. Food is nearly non-
existant, and potable water is disappearing rapidly. Local services of all
kinds are either totally gone or are failing rapidly. The power is expected
to be totally cut off within 8 hours.

Causes of this terrible devastation are being explored, but as of yet the only
connection seems to be that all the affected systems were computer controlled.
While this leads this journalist to certain conclusions, it would be against
my personal ethics to voice them. This is Charlie Fingers, hoping that he is
wrong about this, signing off. +++++End Trideo Download++++]<<<<<
