his concern for them must be nigh on _overwhelming_, to say the

Tis not unreasonable to think he's been made aware of young Mitchell's
untimely demise, as well. He was _quite_ familiar with the
Truman family, having known them since he was but a boy. Why,
I believe he'd known Mitchell, virtually since the lad's _birth_!

Tis _always_ difficult to hear of the loss of one so young, so full of
ambition and promise. But, when you've called that one "friend"...]
