You see a small hospital room. Inside this room, on the only bed is a man who
is connected to heavy life-support. Standing to his left is an older Indian
elf, who is calmly reading a chart. In the doorway is a well-built male with
blond hair. He has a few days worth of stubble. The suit he is wearing is
rumpled as if it was slept in.

The elf turns to the man and says, "Well none of the cyberware that was
repaired has been rejected. It should be only a matter of time before he wakes
up."

The man sighs and then quietly asks, "Do you think he will try and kill me on
sight?"

The elf shrugs and responds, "I don't know. This whole room will be a
surprise. Last thing he remembered wasn't pleasant. He's got a lo...."

The man nods and says, "I'm aware of what he has yet to deal with. Looking
over his past actions -- umm. . . well yes."

The elf looks at him and seems to just be weighing him somehow. "You really
should get some rest."

A deep voice from behind answers, "Yea ya should Nightmare." A trolls hand
rests on the man's shoulder. "A few messages of note just came in. AJ
apparently got back ta Seattle with WHAT. Someone assailed WHAT and screamed
somethin' about gettin' a sword back. (Nightmare winces). WHAT didn' survive
it ta well, and Bruce is brin'in' him here. AJ has a decent length post
directed at ya. Apparently though, he is in hot water again. Do you wish to
read dem?"

There is a long pause as Nightmare just looks at the man in the bed,
Blitzkrieg. He then looks behind him and says, "I have no wish to read
something about Doctor Alexander Jackson right now. Ch-- Mark is not going to
react well to WHAT being here either. Looks like you are going to earn your
paycheck, Herr Doomsday."

The elf looks at the doorway with his head slightly tilted. "Someone captured
a vampire. I wonder why?"

Nightmare responds emotionallessly, "Well the typical motivation for kidnapping
someone is love, money, or gain in power. I doubt that it would be the first,
so.... what does that leave? Add that to certain things that came accross my
doorstep, I would say that something in AJ's past caught up to him."

The elf nods slightly and says, "Hmmm. Still I know from past dealings that
AJ didn't choose to be what he is. Maybe we should do something."

Nightmare shakes his and retorts, "Maybe he didn't choose what he is, but I
didn't choose how I grew up, and neither did Mark. Just because he doesn't
have control doesn't make a good excuse. Count me out of it. I want nothing
to do with the bloodsucker."

The voice (most likely Doomsday) behind Nightmare says, "For right now I agree.
We have enough dings ta deal with."

The elf nods sadly and mutters something under his breath that even with
various pickups you can't quite catch. He then pauses and says, "Why don't
we get some rest while we still can?"
