Ma'am, we've just received a disturbing report from New York. It appears
that one of our Wyvern's decided to malfunction over the city and began a
dive into a populated area. Luckily, the pilot was able to initiate the
self-destruct prior to impact and groud casualties were limited to
approximately 15 injuries, 4 severe, and one fatality, all from falling
debris. The pilot is in the hospital as well as he parachuted onto a
steel fence. We have a team there as of five minutes ago, and they are
searching for the flight recorder. It is designed to survive
self-destruct with minimal.....

Excuse me, ma'am, but I have a report coming in as we speak.

"Put it on, John."

"......we're having trouble with the local police who have cordoned off
the area. They are refusing to allow us to search the wreckage until the
City government has cleared it."

"Excuse me, John, I have a phone call to make."

+++++Several minutes of silence+++++

"They should be allowed in to the area within 5 minutes, John, so long as
they agree to remove nothing but the flight recorder."

Of course, ma'am.

"The obvious cause of this is S-I. Where was that fighter based out of?"

It appears to have been a trial loan to the UCAS military, based out of
Philidelphia, on a training flight to Maine and back.

"UCAS Military? Do you have a sattelite photo of that base that's recent?"

Let me see..... It's coming up on your computer now, along with an
analysis of sillouettes.

Most of the analysis shows various corporate fighters. But S-I doesn't
do the hard core vehicles. It is possible, although I suspect unlikely,
that they have begun recent sales to the UCAS Navy. Our most recent
intelligence on them indicates that their sales in this area are minimal,
but expanding.

"I see a few names that would love to see us taken down a few notches.
Ares fighters mostly. I recommend starting with them."

Yes ma'am. What would you like me to do in the event that they appear to
be the cause? This is, of course, assuming that we find it was a forced
failure rather than a true accident or pilot error.

"Nothing. Contact me. We might be able to use our silence to our
advantage."]<<<<<
