>>>>>[Sir, Cpl. Lance Perez is dead. Lone Star police contacted us for
identification this morning at 0830 hours. At 1430 hours, Cpl. Nancy
Johnson positively identified the remains.

As you know, Perez was attempting to locate AWOL Sgt. Otalvaro. His last
report was stamped 1330 hours, 5-31-57. He had determined Otalvaro's next
appearance would be shortly thereafter. She had arranged a meeting with
someone to 'freelance' an overseas contact. Perez intended to verify
Otalvaro's identity, observe the meeting, and determine Otalvaro's plans.
His work was to establish the foundation for a capture attempt in six days.

>From the available information, we have reconstructed the following scenario.
Perez arrived at the location to observe the meeting. Otalvaro never showed.
Either en route or actually within the Bellevue fieldbase, Otalvaro
discovered and ambused Perez. There were no signs of struggle, nor any
physical evidence, in the fieldbase. Perez was killed by eight knife
wounds in his chest cavity. Stripped naked, Perez' body was left in the
hallway of the fieldbase's residential wing. Media leakage has been
minimized due to the remote location of the fieldbase and the lack of
witnesses to the action.

Primary, secondary, and tertiary security monitors were all either
circumvented or the tapes were removed previous to retrieval. Perez'
cybereye was removed and his headware memory erased. All of his collected
data from 5-25 through 5-31 was gone. The material he had forwarded to
the central database has been retained; however, many of his reports and
forwards referenced materials he had not yet edited and prepared for
transfer to the CDB.

Obviously, Otalvaro found Perez and eliminated him. We have prepared
Cpl. Johnson to continue the effort to locate Otalvaro and await your
orders. We also need your signature to authorize the release of this
information to Perez' next of kin.END]<<<<<
