"Major Hunter, we need to talk."

You may, but I don't.

"You are correct. You need to listen. It has come to our attention that
you have have plans to enter the Chicago Containment Zone. There are
certain things you will do for us while there."

Excuse me? First of all, what makes you think I would want to go into that
hell hole? I might have a death wish, but I'm not going to become some
walking corpse for those bugs to control. And secondly, if I was, what
makes you think that I would be under any compulsion to provide any service
for you? Until you start paying better, I no longer do work for you.

"Hmmm. Two interesting questions Major, we..."

Would you stop calling me that?

"Calling you what? Major? It was a rank accorded to you while you served
with us, and our records show that it still applys. But to keep this civil,
we will stop. What would you prefer? Mr. Hunter? Matthew? Or what is
that street name you go by? Razor? Knife? Ah yes!(the man laughs) Blade!
Would you prefer that?

(The other man now sounds as if he's speaking through clenched teeth.) That
would be fine.

"Well, then, Blade, as we were saying, those are two interesting questions.
Now, you say that you aren't going into the Zone, and we seem to be looking
at some information traffic that indicates you volunteered, how very noble,
to work with a certain woman, who shall remain unnamed, to go into the zone
with her. Are these reports incorrect? No, don't answer that. You would
only deny it. But remember, we contacted you with an offer of assistance
during that whole Maxim affair several months ago, and people with far
better security than what you have at your disposal tried to keep that
hushed up. Think about that.

Now, as to why you are going to do this, now that it's been decided that you
are going to the Zone, lets just say, you still owe us a little bit."

I payed you back on the same Maxim run. We were even.

"Well, it seems that was the original thought, but you did lose four
operatives, and sent one back almost dead. You also needed some medical
treatment then, and since it seems. Unless you'd like to pay for the
losses? We didn't think so.

Now, relax. The job itself fairly simple. All you need to do is carry some
information to some agents of ours working in the zone. We've had some
recent problems communicating with them, and your little jaunt happened at a
most oppurtune time for us. We will deliver to you a chip containing the
information you are to deliver, as well as possible contact points. Give
our agents the chip, and you are free to do as you wish."

(a sigh can be heard) Alright. But this is it. I didn't want your help
with the arm, and I don't want your help after this. Understand?

"Perfectly. We have already dispatched a courier to deliver the chip. You
should have it shortly."

Alright. I can't say when we're leaving, but your agents will get the chip
as soon as I get to the zone. Oh, one last thing.

"Yes?"

If you ever threaten me like this again, I'm going to nail you to your door
for your wife to find. I know your security. I helped design it.

(It's almost possible to hear the smile in the voice on the other end)
"It's good to be working with you again, Major Hunter"
