My father was the last of the Running Wolves, until I was born: the
rest of the clan died in Abilene, or fighting against the US, or in the
Dance.
Now I'm a federal UCAS agent. Contradictory, huh? And one of the things
we're afraid of is another Ghost Dance. Or, worse, some of the rumours
coming out of Aztlan. When they do that old ritual with the stepped
pyramids, the obsidian knives, and hacking out hearts, I am told that
some *massive* mana is released. And that it is a dark power that works
better for destruction than creation.
Propaganda? Maybe. But I'm scared of it anyway. This is all new stuff,
and it's like the early days of the Manhatten Project must have been.
Nobody really knows what any of this stuff does, do they?]<<<<<
