>>>>>[A good point from Azrael, the board's Mr Mystery <g> Or there's
the alternative: to be known, yet unfindable. Drake caught me through a
ritual sending: the only time I'd been captured before that was when a
traitor at Ares sold me out to MCT. With those exceptions, I come and go
as I wish, yet none know where I may be found (he says in tones of
swashbuckling melodrama).

More seriously, for what I do, I need to be at least somewhat
vulnerable. Often, someone trying and failing to kill me is the best
lead I can pick up. Of course, if you got a hot tip on where I might be,
you have to consider carefully whether it's real, or something I leaked
to suck you into an ambush...

And there's the problem of "someone cared enough to eliminate one of our
agents. What were they hiding?" My death wouldn't be cause for reprisals
or for reciprocal action. But it would be noticed. Hell, I only caught
onto Project Manchu because Aztlan tried to kill me. If they'd let it
slide, or thrown me something to distract me, they might have got away
clean. Instead, someone panicked and tried to take me out. Win or lose,
that raises the stakes and draws attention. If it was worth defending
like that, it must need investigating...

If you can play headgames with SAM operators, you can run the shadows.
Or vice versa. The principles seem to be directly interchangeable <g>.

And yes, I'm one hell of a poker player. But Lilith is better.]<<<<<
