killed in.

His body disappeared in the time between the doctor grabbing the
security tape and your people arriving.

He and/or his people seem able to dance around our security almost at
will.


One possibility is that he's got someone on the inside, which is why I'm
running this privately to you. Probably me being paranoid, but I've been
badly burned like this before and wanted a little reassurance.

Could he be a vampire? I know one vampire who's got spurs, it would
account for the speed. But then, we'd detect HMHVV in the tissues. Mind
you, I always heard that beheading would kill even a vampire.

Easy's adamant that she never lost sight of his body between putting his
head through the wall and cutting it off his neck, which makes a swap
hard to believe. Not entirely impossible, perhaps, but I don't see any
way to do it that both Easy and the security camera would have missed.


And thanks for the sentiment on the insect spirits, D'Arkan, but those
Marines _were_ a bughunter unit, one I helped to train in fact <g> I've
been up against the invae before. Among other things, that's why I wore
hardshell armour for only about the twelfth time in my life.

Are we still trying for a trace on his postings? If not, I can see if I
