minutes after it happens. Sorry for the lag.

The reporter gives his camera a plastic smile. "This is John Willis,
reporting live for KLOM from Redmond, where Lone Star and FBI have
allegedly run the terrorist Thunda to ground in the abandoned Justy
Steel Works."

The view cuts to a long-angle shot of a street choked with police and
unmarked cars, Lone Star patrolmen and figures in FBI raid jackets
milling. The camera jerks upwards to show the grimy spires and dirty
buildings of a defunct steel mill. A single police car sits by the
gates, a corpse sprawled out of the open passenger door, lying in a wide
dark puddle. More police-uniformed figures sprawl in the road, using the
poor cover of the kerb, or lie by the fence: perhaps two dozen in all,
some apparently injured and a couple being tended to.

"We were contacted by a source who told us Thunda had over a hundred
Elven schoolchildren held hostage at the Justy steelworks, and we raced
to the scene. Heavy fighting erupted as police tried to force an entry,
and as backup flooded in it became apparent that this is no ordinary
criminal case! As over a hundred law enforcers converged upon the scene,
evacuating wounded and exchanging fire with the occupants of the Justy
works, the FBI took charge of the scene!"

The camera cuts back to Willis.

"It appears that the Federal officers controlling the scene gave their
snipers the order to shoot to kill, and they have done so. Deadly high-
velocity bullets snuffed out lives: dozens, perhaps scores, dead without
challenge or chance to surrender. Now the FBI and its hired killers have
used high explosives to blast gaps in the fence and are closing in on
the building, machine-gunning it as they advance, heedless of the lives
of any hostages or any innocents trapped inside."

The view shifts back to the steelworks, dust kicking off the front of
the two-floor office block and the last windows shattering as two groups
of figures advance, well-spaced and moving in leapfrogging bounds. One
group scatters around the building's perimeter, the other enters.
Ambulances begin to move into view, paramedics collecting wounded.

"And I'm told that grenade explosions and automatic gunfire can be
heard, as the Federal officers slaughter everyone present inside the
structure, ignoring any pleas for mercy or offers of surrender. It seems
quiet for now, Frank, we'll be back after the break."

The steelworks again, more figures jogging across the open ground.

"Once again, government forces react with murderous force against UCAS
citizens, with an unknown number brutally slain by Federal officers in
that building. I'm told that surveillance equipment heard children
screaming and pleading for mercy from the steelworks office building,
before the equipment was forcibly confiscated. The Federal forces have
finally allowed police officers to move across, a sizeable force of
patrolmen massing in and around the building. Doubtless to ensure that
when we the public are permitted to investigate, only the Government
line is reported!" Willis gives the camera a conspiratorial wink.

"But this reporter is made of sterner stuff! Now the area is secured,
we're going to see this Federal atrocity first-hand! We'll show you the
State-sponsored slaughter of the innocents, prove the Government's
complicity beyond doubt!" The helicopter's nose dips and it accelerates,
as the camera cuts back to the steelmill -

and the figures scattering as if in slow motion-

and the fireballs of several explosions rising -

and the smoke trails rising towards the helicopter, Willis barely having
time to say "what the-" before the camera whites out for a second,
returning to show a crazily gyrating view as the helicopter spins wildly
out of control, the flashes of the ground looming closer and closer as
the view is fuzzed with static and noise bars, the audio a screeching
warble of jamming that almost drowns Willis' last words.

"Oh JESUS CHRIST SOMEONE HELP-"

Oh, dear.

I'll see if I can find any other pirate channels worth watching. If you
want the official scoop, I think TNN are there already.]<<<<<
