>>>>>[ Diana, I'm not sure it was the Wanderer's idea to kill off children
so they would be safe from despair. As I believe he put it at the time,
"They had to pay the price of their sin." I believe (but don't have hard
evidence) that their sin was just being near where the Wraith apparently
summoned (?).

Perceptions color a lot of how we all react to everything. I perceive
things vastly differently than the Mistress of the Night, yet I believe
that in some areas even we overlap our beliefs.

Honor has one great use: It allows us to perceive whether certain people
like the Wanderer have any socially redeemable values. Sometimes when all
else fails, hiding behind honor allows us to get through another day. Sure
it is another mask, but lets face it. That's life.

The reason I work with people who uphold honor is really simple. It gives
me some ground to approach them on and it gives me a little bit of
indication on how they might react in a given situation. I don't think too
many of my peers here would really want to get into a debate about Ludwig
Wittgentstein's "Philosophical Investigations," yet we can still relate to
each other based on our views about honor and morality (or lack of).

Actually Diana, I would like to talk to you about something that is
bothering me about Bruce. Namely, why did he refuse Nightmare's offer to
be healed of the scars? (If it is indeed possible - which at this point is
mere speculation).

The reason I'm doing this, is not to rake your old wounds, but to give
Bruce an appropriate eulogy (to Sprinkler who was curious and to his
surviving family which he never bothered to keep in touch with).
Unfortunately, I knew his ex-wife a lot better than I ever knew him. If
you don't want to talk to me about it, I'll understand. ]<<<<<

Wittgentstein's work that was translated by a G.E.M. Anscombe. I have yet
to read it in its original German. Perhaps someday. ]<<<<<
