The palace is in uproar over the recent incidents around Pendleton. It
appears that something escaped or was assisted to escape from a research
establishment in the area. I have intercepted several reports from
internal offices which are calling for heavier measures. As far as I am
aware, several crack military units are operating in the vicinity of
Pendleton covering a two hundred square mile area, right up to the NAN
border. Some pretty intense conversations have occured between the
princes and NAN Councils, though the nature of those conversations is
hidden from me.


From the little I have gleaned from the data available some person(s) or
thing(s) have caused considerable concern and damage in this area.
There is speculation that a research project has been unleashed, and the
military are either having trouble recovering it, or killing it.


It may be that this is an opportunity for us. I want you and five
others to scout the area - passes and requisite orders will be provided.
Find out what has happened, and ascertain the threat and value of this
situation. I do not expect you to get involved with the military, or
involved in the hunt. I just want information.
