I have my doubts as to the usefulness of the soul in it's damaged
condition. However, you may have access to greater resources than I.
Therefore I have made arrangements to have the three sections we have
recovered shipped to you. They will be contained in a special envoy
package with your first shipment from Palenque. I will hand the package
to the pilot, for delivery to you directly. Please meet the plane at
it's destination, I would hate for these items to fall into the wrong
hands.
As I said, I will continue research in this area, and see what
information can be turned up. With any luck, either a clue to it's
construction, or the rest of the pieces will turn up at Bonampak or in
the Palenque library. I will be returning to Palenque for the purposes
of this research within a few days.
Your gratitude may be a little out of place, as I have not succeeded
yet. But there is hope. I have been informed of several other
archaeological digs in central America. I will be liaising with Dr.
Jordan the central co-ordinator here, and will see if he is interested
expanding the present arrangements regarding shipments. If you are able
to maintain the present situation, and possibly employ independents as
extra manpower and transport facilities, there is a good chance that she
may be interested. If nothing else, at least this may be a lucrative if
not successful expedition.
The three fragments you will be receiving appear to be part of a
surround, similar to a shield (it appears to resemble, for want of a
better description, a squashed radar dish. You will see how these parts
interlink, though without the central portion I don't believe that there
is a way to maintain their link, also with one piece damaged beyond
repair, it may not reassemble.
In case the parts are repairable by your sources I will also include the
shattered remains of the last piece we found.
Good luck in trying to remake it. I have no idea where you might
