>>>>>[Thanks for the agents, we could use some legitimacy. If it wasn't
so damn obvious I'd be jumping on that Abraham guy... that's a good
cover for this sort of thing. Right now, though, I'm staying at least a
K away from him and making sure I've got alibis. Someone's going to take
him out if he keeps blathering about Thunda, and I don't want it pinned
on me. I don't have desire, time or inclination to do anything about
Abraham right now.

Of course, since all Feds are children of Satan, we've no chance of
warning him to shut up for his own safety, because we're "threatening
him" and "trying to suppress the messages of the divine Goldsmith".

Can we get a protective detail on him? Or extract him into protective
custody, preferably out of the 'plex? Like I said, anything happens to
him and I'm going to get blamed, and I could do without that particular
hassle right now: and if he doesn't shut up something _is_ going to
happen to him.

Re. missing nuclear weapons: none post-Crash. We went over this when
Thunda had that nosecone. Pre-Crash you're looking at kit that's nearly
thirty years old, and that's not something you refurbish in a basement.

The "site" was a domestic residence, you got the address. They didn't
have a zoning permit for radiation work <g>

The Energy guys are still picking over the debris, but you're welcome to
check it out or send any specialists you've got, see what we're missing.
Right now it looks like someone had some five- or ten-year old nukes and
refurbished them in that basement. Preliminary ID on the residues makes
the core material plutonium from the Khiva plant, 2035 to 2039. Don't
ask me how these guys work it out, but they're right more than they're
wrong.

And this wasn't an accident, this was a shutdown of the refurb program.
Someone got their nuclear weapons reworked and tweaked on the quiet in a
private residence, then killed the workers and blew up the house where
the work was done. You only need one really clued guy and a handful of
decently skilled machinists for this work, and we've got eight John Does
that we found buried in the back yard. SOP for someone who didn't want
any witnesses left alive.

In short; the evidence points at an uncertain but small number of
refurbished 50KT nuclear warheads, each about 150lb in weight and no
more than eight inches in diameter, loose in Seattle, and the only
targeting plan we have is the decommed boats in Everett.

Oh, joy.]<<<<<
