Don't hold your breath. I made sure my immunisations cover it anyway.

What scares me is if devil rats, or at least their fleas, become
carriers for _pasteurella pestis_, the good old bubonic plague,
everyone's favourite. Sure, those of us with medical cover will live
through it. What's the death toll in the Barrens going to be like?

Those areas are ripe for an epidemic: we've been lucky so far. Mind you,
we managed to spend over a century without having to write "cholera" or
"diptheria" on many death certificates: I'm not convinced the mortality
rates we see today constitute progress.]<<<<<
