>>>>>[Hey man, just trying to be polite. Sure being apologetic may not
help if someone were to take offense, but it was there to make sure the
post sounded humorous, and not like some anti-vamp rant. I kinda like my
head on my shoulders and watching sunsets (something you usually don't
have to worry about with your average Italian). There isn't a gene-screen
to get on the matrix. So it would really suck (all pun intended) to be
flatlined because of a stupid joke somebody took the wrong way. I was
emphasizing the idea that a Vindicator with silver bullets would scrag me
as bad, if not worse, than any shape-shifter out there and that there are
a lot of superstitions especially regarding the more unusual Awakened that
are still alive and well out there.

If I go and tell a joke at a bar that starts, "A priest, a rabbi, and a
druid walk into a bar..." and I see a collar out there on one of the
patrons, I'll buy the good father another round of whatever he's drinking
to let him know there's no hard feelings. That's the kind of guy I am.

But on a serious note, there is a big difference between HMHVV infection
and being a metahuman. As far as I've read, you are _born_ a meta (or in
really rare cases now you goblinize) and that's because you are "supposed"
to be that way, genetically. You have to be purposely infected with HMHVV
to become one of them. From what I've heard, the process ain't exactly
pretty, but then, that may be more superstition. I don't exactly plan on
finding out for myself. Plus there's that nasty little habit of
preying on other metahumans that makes me generally not want to
attract their ire.]<<<<<
