She has another shadow here, by the name of Mani. He seems to have an
attitude problem, in as much as he is maybe a little over confident in
his capabilities. Needless to say, he is good, very good. I am
confident however, that I can take him without too much trouble.
Many of the people here are surprisingly undisciplined. Weapons are
carried in open happy abandon, cleaning and arming of weapons is carried
out amindst pools of beer and pretzels, strange people, but they seem
efficient.
You have no doubt seen the vid footage of the other night. If it hadn't
been for the appearance of that armour, I think that we would right now
be picking through the ashes of the Easy Eight. It may be an idea,
especially seeing as Easy now has a seriously heavy "vengeance" kick on
at the moment, that you have a team standing by on ready alert. She
seems a tad upset over the loss of some fields, and the attack itself.
Ground is ground, I fail to see the problem. Provided some profit is
available who cares how it comes?
My opinion of the powered armour units is relatively low. They rely too
heavily on sensor arrays, and the floodlights are obvious and simple
targets. I would suggest that high velocity explosive rounds would
disable these units relatively quickly. Head and upper torso hits would
disable or damage the sensor arrays, heavy fire would disable or
destroy the lights, rendering the units effectively blind. Concentrated
heavy calibre fire, will chew the armour away, exposing the essential
mechanisms. I cannot say at this time, what model these units were, and
must guess that they are not top-line units. Armour is good, it shrugs
off most rounds without trouble, but, to trained personnel, disciplined
and concentrating their fire, the units are surprisingly vulnerable. In
riot situations or against undisciplined opposition they are probably
terrifying, and certainly - as evidenced by the footage - effective. I
believe, from the little I have seen that the design specifications of
the Tir units are far superior, and may be worth something here.
In general the situation remains as edgy as when I arrived. People here
seem to expect me to gossip on at length about nothing, and appear to be
hurt when I refuse the invitations to join in their inane conversations.
What is the point in discussing the weather, when one can go outside and
experience it? The fight was a welcome diversion, I was almost getting
bored waiting for something to happen that didn't involve the idle
threats that are bandied about here. The attitude of the people seems
to be commensurate with the amount of beer consumed, typical I suppose.
I must confess though, that I fail to see where they have got the
opinion that I'm being quiet in order to enforce my "hard guy" image.
Don't these people understand that not one of them has attempted to
engage me in a conversation that I would be interested in? I really
have no interest at all, in discussing ballistics, armour degredation,
the latest rock song, bullet types, or the various benefits of different
alcoholic beverages.
I am bored, but vigilant, and will continue to carry out your orders.
Maybe this "I want to kill someone" attitude of Easy's will make things
interesting again.
I have included with this, a file describing some of the more regular
defenders and extrapolated what information I can concerning her
friends. I do appreciate that this was not my purpose here, but you
have to appreciate that it is extremely boring standing around all day
waiting for some low-life to attack something they cannot possibly hope
to defeat.
