I would have thought that you, of all people, would have been more interested
in finding out who was moving the hand that was pulling the trigger, rather
that just getting the shooter.
While founded with some interesting ideas in mind, Serenity is, despite everyone
wanting to think otherwise, a corporation. Not nearly as unwieldy as, say,
Ares, Maxim, or Mitsu, but they ARE well on their way to multi-national
status. That really is starting to frighten some people. Dont think that
people in the know do not know you are on retainer with Serenity. No
training in law enforcement at all, and a personal kill ratio that
rivals that of any 5 of my best snipers, most of which have seen
mercenary work in some of the worst, according to them, hell holes on
the planet. You have a little trouble, and someone pulls powered
armor out of their ass to help you with some couple hundred gangers.
Come on, how do you think that looks from the outside? You decide to
set up a farm down in Talisar. This farm and bar just happens to butt up
against Commander Rushanov's new base. Rushanov is, oh my, also on
retainer with Serenity.

If I hadnt had this job thrown into my lap, and had not seen it as a
way to assist a friend, I wouldnt have taken it. It floated around
Seattle for nearly 3 days, being turn down by others, before I picked it up.
I didnt think that Mr. Stormwind would have liked to have someone else
romping through his systems.
This is the beauty that I cannot get into Neuron Basher's head --
My contract reads "set up, staff, and execute a matrix attack against
Serenity Security, report data. 1 - week return time". It doesnt even
have to be sucessful.
If we must, we must. Just dont lose sight of the larger picture.
