>>>>>[ God I had forgotten how great it was to work with those
guys. Those sat shots were right on, Lilith -- the thermo images
especially were right on. The tangos were right where we were
expecting them and the mission went far better than I expected.
I'll let you judge for yourselves from the logs.

+++++ begin video

A counter can be seen in the upper right hand corner of the dark
screen counting down at a furious rate. Abruptly the image brightens
as lowlight enhancement kicks in and shapes can be seen rushing
toward the camera. To the left and right, figures in dark black
light combat armor can be made out, spread out in freefall with
parachutes strapped to their backs.

As the ground rushes toward the camera, a gruff voice can be heard
issuing last minute orders to the troopers as they continue their
furious descent. "Touchdown in thirty. Execute contingency
Bravo."

As the counter speeds toward zero another display appears in the
lower right corner with a scaled-down map of the area below. The
altimeter fades from view as the camera stops abruptly and the
descent slows. Telemetry from a smartgun link appears in the upper
right as Imp cuts away his main chute and drops the last few feet
to land lightly in the middle of a narrow street. Panning left and
right, the camera shifts through infrared and low-light scanning
quickly for hostiles.

Silently Imp signals all but two of his men to take up defensive
positions while the chutes are gathered up and quickly tossed into
a convenient alley. The troopers, who have taken up covering
positions with complimentary fire arcs, are arrayed in light military
armor in matte-black. Each is carrying a supressed MP5TX, and most
have decided not to wear helmets -- probably so as not to impede
their peripheral vision.

In a low voice, you can hear Imp communicating with the second
squad. "Bravo, report."

"Bravo here. Negative contact. Looks like our intel was right and
they are clustered at the docks and the bar. Preparing to move out
now."

"Acknowledged. Commence assault in two minutes."

"Roger. Bravo moving."

As he finishes speaking, the squad fans out into a wedge formation
with Imp in the lead and begins moving. Judging by the map display
there are two teams on the ground. Alpha is moving toward the docks
and Bravo is moving steadily another structure that is marked on the
map."

The team moves cautiously but quickly, constantly providing cover for
one another. The move with the fluidity of a team that has obviously
trained together extensively. Suddenly Imp signals for his men to
move to the side of the road as sounds can be heard coming from out
of a side street. Seconds later a pair of armed soldiers walk around
the corner, oblivious to their surroundings as Imp fires two silent
bursts into their unsuspecting bodies.

Imp motions with his right hand and two of his troopers run up to the
bodies and fire single rounds to their heads, making sure that they
won't be back in the fight later. The team resumes their formation
and continues on to their destination.

Dilapidated piers stretch off into the bay with a single small
run-down building at the end of the street. Imp motions and his
men break up into pairs and approach the building, pausing briefly
several times only to move on to another point at the outside
perimeter of the building before moving to positions beside the
surrounding buildings.

"Bravo in position." comes the call just after the men have settled
into position.

"Roger. Commence in three .. two .. one."

As the word one is spoken, explosions rip through the base of the
building blowing out the structural supports and causing it to
collapse in upon itself. Screams can be heard from inside the
building and shapes can be seen trying to pull themselves out from
under the rubble. Imp and his team rake the building with fire
from their sub-machineguns and in moments the screams have come
to a halt.

+++++ end video

Everything after that was pretty much just mop-up. There were a few
isolated tangos who came out after we had taken out the major
concentrations. Surprisingly enough, they didn't want to get into
a confrontation with us and surrendered almost immediately. We
ended up with five prisoners when all was said and done. This
place has been ransacked though. Akbar didn't leave much left of
the place after he moved through.

Anyhow, we're now working on setting up a passable perimeter with
the sensors that we brought with us and should be all set within
the next two hours. I'll be uplinking on the following schedule
for message traffic:

+++++ include file: uplink.sched

And we'll be constantly scanning the tac frequencies you briefed us
with. That's it for now. Let me know if there are any developments
that I shoud be aware of. ]<<<<<
