>>>>>[ The insertion went very smoothly, and all of the troops and
equipment was landed without incident. We moved into position and
were able to launch right on schedule.

+++++ begin video

A tall man with coppery brown hair stands in front of a small command
van and is addressing what appears to be about twenty five troopers
arrayed in medium grade military armor which is painted flat black
with a small Serenity Security logo on the upper left corner of the
chest. The word "Tangent" appears briefly in the upper right corner
of the image, seemingly identifying the leader of the troops.
Apparently the man has just finished a final-briefing because the men
are starting to form up into squads and are doing final checks on
their gear. Most of the troopers are carrying Ares Alphas, but one
per squad is carrying a belt-fed Ares HV MP-LMG.

+++++ time index: +00:08:00.00 minutes

Tangent is lying flat on his stomach, peering over the top of a
small hill intently. The view shifts and zoons, and what is
obviously a military camp of some kind becomes visible. A large
tent in the center with several antennae surrounding it proclaims
it as the communications center of the camp. About a dozen tents
surround the central tent, and three IFVs are clearly visible on
three sides of the camp. Several men seem to be milling around,
but judging by the darkness it is very late and there is not
much movement.

The view zooms back out and pans over a group of troopers arrayed
behind Tangent, coming to rest on the command van that is disgorging
a Steel Lynx combat drone. An Aerodesign Condor begins a gentle
rise from the top of the van as well.

Tangent carefully edges away from the rise he was using for cover
and moves over to the Devil Rat.

S1: "Squad two, report."
S2: "Squad two, ready and in position."

S1: "Squad three, report."
S3: "Three is ready and in position."

S1: "All squads, move out in three minutes ...... Mark!"
S2: "Click, Click."
S3: "Click, Click."

With that, the the Steel Lynx rolls up to the base of the hill, the
squad forms up to the right of the drone. The camera pans up and the
Condor can be seen lifting ever higher, and moving into position
over the camp.

+++++ time index: +00:02:30.00

Suddenly, the view erupts into motion. The Steel Lynx lurches
forward over the top of the hill and begins spitting shells across
the field toward one of the IFVs. The tracers lick out toward the
IFV and it bursts into a brilliant ball of flame. At the same
instant, the troopers rush over the top of the hill at a dead run,
their weapons firing stacatto three-round bursts into anything
that moves.

From off to the left, a streak is seen just before the antenna
farm explodes. At the same instant, one of the other IFVs succumbs
to the hail of armor-piercing shells from the Steel Lynx on the
other side of the camp.

The view changes abruptly to an overhead view of the camp, presumably
from the Condor drone that was launched. Groups of armored troopers
can be seen surround each of the smaller tents and fire into them
until there is no more movement while the first squad moves into the
main command tent.

Isolated bursts lash out from the groups surrounding the tents for
a couple of minutes, gradually fading away to nothing. The camera
switches back to ground level just as Tangent enters the comm tent.
Several bursts are heard on the soundtrack and Tangent emerges from
the tent, removing the helmet from his armor.

+++++ end video

We fell back with the van we dropped in and an IFV that we were able
to capture intact. We were able to determine that it was it was
unmanned with thermo sensors on the Condor. We've setup in a
defensible area at >>encrypted<< for the night, and plan to begin
moving to reinforce Imp at the port facility at first light. I'll be
uplinked every six hours for message traffic.

Oh, and tell the Chief that I got her message and I'll be looking her up
when this is all over with. I was not expecting _that_ in my ammunition
box. ]<<<<<
