>>>>>[Ya know, I thought when I bonded Cindy as my Ally Spirit that I was
just creating something, kinda like a toy or a painting. Something that
would be mine to control. But lately, she seems to be controlling me, and
I don't really mind all that much.

I know whe's not even a woman, not in a real sense. She's something from
another plane of existance, something beyond metahuman, and yet, at times,
she seems to be the most Human person I've ever met. I think I'm falling
in love with her.

Yes, yes... I know that's irrational. At MIT&T, they always told us to
keep the magic impersonal, to make ourselves impervious from the effects of
our own magic. I always assumed that was just to keep us from killing
ourselves with the after effects of Fireballs and Manaballs. Now I see
that it was something more.

And after what happened with Jennifer, I never thought I'd feel this way
again. Damn... I hate life sometimes.

I snagged this off of Mac's security camera and am sticking it in here for
future reference. Damn that woman... Errr... Spirit?

The room is brightly lit, though the furniture is sparse. There is a small
table with several simple metal folding chairs, a bed in one corner, and a
small chest of drawers. On top of the chest, several odd items lay,
possibly magical arcana and ritual materials.

Sitting at the table are two people. One is a human male, maybe in his mid
to late 20's. He is very thin, with long blond hair and bright green eyes.
He wears a very stylishly cut suit, though the colors stand out. The suit
is a deep and brilliant blue, and covered in silver stars, moons and sun
shapes. Perched on his head is a tall, pointed hat, somewhat battered and
shapeless. He has an easy smile, and has a sparkling ball of light that
swirls around his hand and dances about the room, apparenty at his command.

The other is a tall and very beautiful woman. She was very deep, fiery red
hair, deep green eyes, and is wearing a stylish deep red suit, with a short
skirt that shows off her long, shapely legs. The man seems torn between
watching his dancing ball of light and watching this beautiful woman.

"Do you know what you are doing, Steven?" The woman asks, her voice deep
and melodic.

"Cindy, please. Call me Chaos. I don;t use Steven any more. Haven't
since Jennifer died." He replies shortly, giving her a short, irritated
look. "And yes, I know. Bull asked me to help out these people, and I owe
him. Besides, it'll be fun. Canis said I can blow things up."

Cindy sighs deeply and looks away. "Blow things up! Hah!" She snorts.
"Silly mage, always looking for death."

"What do you know?" Chaos snaps back. "I'm not looking to die! But when
I do, it won't bother me. Not much to live for anyways, not anymore."

"I know that you haven't been yourself these last couple years, that's
what!" She repiies calmly, though she seems slightly exasperated with the
mage. "I've been with you for how long? 7... 8 years now? Ever since
you conjured me when you were at that college. Back then, I didn;t have
much power, to be sure. And I know what I was then to you, an experiment,
to see if your magic worked right."

"I'm sorry about that, Cindy. They always taught us that you were simply a
force of nature, to be controlled for our purposes. Though you know I
never treated you badly. You were always someone I considered a friend,
though you were unruly at first." Chaos replies, looking away from the
redhead, as if ashamed.

"I know taht Stveen. that's why I'm still around. I had my oppurtunity to
break away from you years ago. But you've always intrigued me. And I
consider you a friend." She says quietly. "That's why I agreed to become
your ally spirit last year."

"Cindy..." Chaos begins, then trails off.

"Steven, just don't get yourself killed, ok?" Cindy replies after several
moments of silence. "It's time you let go of your anger. Allen is dead
now. He's paid for what he did to Jennifer. You need to move on now."

"I... But..." Chaos seems speechless, and his glittering ball of light
fades from sight as he finally looks up at Cindy and gives her full
attention. They look at each other in silence for several minutes.

"Just promise me you'll settle down and follow my lead, ok? From what I
have heard from you and Mac, this is a serious job, and while there may be
plenty of oppurtunity for you to 'Blow things up', as you put it, it's also
important you try and work with the team." She watches him for a reaction.

A tear rolls down Chaos' cheek. "I... I...." He stutters quietly. "I
need some air."

Chaos stands up quickly and all but runs out the door. Cindy watches him
leave, and remains seated for several seconds longer.

"I love you." She whispers, then fades from sight.
