Found out yesterday my off-base matrix priveledges have been severely
curtailed. No reason given, just when I was starting my usual series of
hops, skips, and jumps free of the Ares system, I found out I could get
only to the home office and that was all. Luckily that job your mom hired
me for a while back got me to upgrade my deck and keep current, so I've
been able to get around it, but since there are a lot hotter deckers
in-house than me, I don't know how long it will be before they cut off my
current little trapdoor. Or just knock on my door and take my deck away
for "security reasons" and make me work on the 'gapped mainframe.

So, anyway, I bop on into SLand and get an eyeful from some people who
don't seem to like you or Lynch too much, and have some remarkably well
altered footage to back them up (at least, I pray it is altered...). I
have the sneaking suspicion that the old man heard about it through the
grape-vine and decided Hikaru and I shouldn't be "distracted." I don't
like being airgapped. Not one bit. If there is anything I can do, I
don't know if I can, but let me know. We're a little worried.

If it helps lighten your day, I've got some good news and bad news you
might find funny. Good news: Pinkett got Hikaru into a one-on-one
furball and beat her pretty solidly. Bad news: He's in the infirmary.
Stress fractures in at least three ribs. Not to mention the hairline
crystal fractures in the wings. Maintenance chief Burke nearly blew a
gasket. Pinkett, with the excellent docs we have, should be up and around
before they fix his ride. Although, when I visited them he was a little
bothered by a couple of docs who had that "We will rebuild him!" look in
their eye. He'll be fine, though they might eventually get him interested
in being ported for the LCL breathing gear.

The rest of the pilots are still looking at the footage from the dogfight.
Hard to tell how many think they were good, and how many thing they were
just plain crazy. I know which side Burke falls on, though. =) Hikaru
just wanted collapse, and did so. She's still out cold. So much for fun
and wargames.]<<<<<
